As Vancouver Olympics approaching faster than anticipated, more and more challenging projects hitting my plate. One day it’s buying couple dozens of computers and setting them up in a matter of a week for one of our client. Another day it’s bunch of cell phones that needed by another client of ours.

So the story goes like this. One of our client has bunch of people coming over for their program. Every one of them requires some kind of cell phone service here. Renting cell phones, or maybe even Mikes could be one way, but I’ve decided to dig into our corporate Rogers to see what those guys can pull out of their hat. Easiest part was the fact that all people would come to Vancouver with unlocked GSM phones, so task is easy - get SIM cards.

How many you might ask, well get ready - at first they were saying 100-300… I thought it was preliminary and number might change. Well it did… to 50… Couple of days later, after number of  ’back and forth’s they’ve decided to have 120

Another challenge is timeline, they need all of it setup in a matter of one week.

I should say Rogers’ sales rep was great, with no even a hint on ‘challenging’ request, he processed our order and in matter of 2 days I had 20 SIM cards activated and shipped to us. Two days later 100 more came in. Now, it’s just a matter of inputting all those usernames, SIM Serial Numbers and cell phone numbers.

For your enjoyment - thats how 100 SIM cards look like:
